Full Story:
Tom had been married to Lisa for five years. They had a comfortable life together, but recently, Tom had started feeling distant and restless. He met Sarah through work, and what began as a harmless friendship quickly turned into a full-blown affair.
Every time he told Lisa he was working late, he was actually sneaking off to meet Sarah. Their secret meetings had become a regular occurrence, and Tom thought he was being careful enough to keep it hidden.
That evening, he and Sarah were at a hotel, caught up in the moment, when suddenly they heard a knock on the door. Tom, not suspecting anything, walked to the door and opened it, thinking it was just the hotel staff bringing some supplies.
But when he opened the door, he was stunned. Standing there, fuming with rage, was Lisa—his wife. She had followed him, suspicious of his late-night “work meetings.”
Without saying a word, Lisa pushed past him into the room. Sarah, realizing what had happened, grabbed her belongings and hurriedly left.
Tom stood frozen, unable to move or speak. Lisa’s eyes were full of hurt and fury. She looked at him and said, “I trusted you. I believed in us. But this? This is unforgivable.”
Lisa took off her wedding ring, throwing it onto the bed. “I want a divorce, Tom. It’s over.”
With those final words, Lisa turned and walked out of the room. Tom could only watch as his world collapsed. In a single moment, he had lost everything he thought he could keep.
