A week ago, my husband and I, both in our 60s, returned from our long-awaited vacation. It was the first time we had been away together in years, and let me tell you, we were living it up! I even posted a picture of myself in a swimsuit — yes, a full-body shot! I figured, why not? We were having fun, feeling great, and I thought my wrinkles had earned their time in the spotlight!
But then, my daughter-in-law saw the picture. Cue the drama. She commented, “Wow, brave of you to post that, considering… well, your age and all.” My jaw dropped. Did she seriously just shame me for having wrinkles? At my age?! Honey, these wrinkles are battle scars from surviving motherhood, not to mention raising her husband!
Instead of stewing in my shock, I decided to give her a little lesson. I replied, “Oh, darling, these wrinkles? They tell stories you’ll never understand yet. Let’s see you in 30 years!”
And just for fun, I posted another photo — this time in a brighter swimsuit with a bigger smile. Caption: “60 and still got it!
Wrinkles and all!
