You don’t always need creepy stories to feel scared—sometimes life itself is unsettling. While some strange events make sense, others are so odd that you wonder if they were even real. These moments might stay in your mind long after reading.
The story:
My father had a heart attack, and I rushed to the hospital at 2 a.m. They wouldn’t let me into the ICU, but a few hours later, a kind nurse let me see him. Months later, my father called me to turn on the news. It turned out that the nurse wasn’t really a nurse.
She was arrested for pretending to be one, and some patients even got worse while she was there. Investigators found that she had a mental condition and had attended nursing school but never graduated. Years later, she managed to sneak into a hospital and fooled everyone. Thankfully, she was caught, and I’m relieved she never directly treated my father.
