Today, taking a taxi isn’t seen as a luxury, but as an easy and affordable way to travel. With apps, booking a ride is very simple. Every day, many people use taxis to go from one place to another, trusting their drivers. Sometimes, even a short ride can turn into an unexpected adventure.
The Story:
One night, my car broke down at an empty gas station. Suddenly, a taxi arrived, even though I didn’t wave for it. I got in, feeling relieved, until I saw the driver looking at me from the corner of his eye. Without saying anything, he turned onto a dark, empty road. Nervously, I said, “This isn’t the right way.” He smiled and said, “We’re taking a little detour.” I started to panic, holding the door handle. I asked, “Why?” He looked at me and suddenly stopped the car with a screech. Then he turned to me, smiling, and said, “Because I forgot to give you this,” and held out a candy bar. I stared at him, surprised. “Really?” He laughed and said, “I thought you might need a snack after the night you’ve had.” I sighed, still surprised, and took the candy.
