The Story:
I used to work in a building with three basement levels. The lab equipment I worked on was in the lowest basement, and I had the only key. There was a wired phone down there, and I sometimes worked late… but not that night.
I was sleeping alone in my apartment when, at 3 AM, my girlfriend called me, very upset. She asked why I scared her. She said she got a call from the basement phone just a minute before, and the person on the call sounded like me, slowly saying her name, until the call started crackling and then stopped.
My apartment was 10 miles away from work. I thought she was lying, but I saw the 3 AM call from the basement phone on her cell. It still creeps me out.
