We can’t predict the future, no matter how much we plan or guess. Life often surprises us with unexpected events or actions of others. These surprises can be hard, but they teach us important lessons and can turn into interesting stories.
The Story:
At the mall, the woman in front of me looked very poor. She was buying a $7 skirt. As she was leaving, the alarm went off, and security came. She looked scared and turned red. She said, “I’m not a thief, I just bought a skirt!” but the alarm kept ringing. Security asked to check her bag. She panicked, and they found a piece of jewelry with the tag still on it.
Suddenly, a teenage girl came to security. Everyone was shocked when she said, “Sir, this woman is not a thief. My friend and I were playing truth or dare, and I dared her to put the jewelry in this lady’s bag. I’m so sorry!” Security was upset but apologized to the woman and let the girls go.
Later, I saw the girls and asked what happened. The girl said, “I lied to security. There was no dare game, and we didn’t put the jewelry in her bag. We didn’t want the poor lady to go to jail, and we knew we wouldn’t get in big trouble since we’re only 14. So we decided to help her!” I was speechless.
