When a woman in Massachusetts passed out while driving on the highway, she was lucky that Adolfo Molina was nearby.
Molina, a tall and strong man from the Dominican Republic, ran across a snowy 4-lane highway to try and stop her car. The car was brushing against the guardrails and still accelerating on the shoulder of the road.
Another driver saw what was happening and recorded the rescue attempt. They posted the video on TikTok, and it quickly went viral. The video showed Molina trying to slow the car down by grabbing the door handles.
“I was surprised at first, but not really because he’s a helpful person,” his wife Maytee Pena told CBS Boston. “He just knew he had to help, so he got out of the car and did what he needed to do. It was like a sign from God. God sent him to do that.”
At one point, another person came to help Molina. They used sticks to try to stop the car, which was starting to move back towards the highway. They also tried to push it into the guardrails to slow it down.
State police later revealed the driver was a 57-year-old woman from New Hampshire who had indeed lost consciousness for unknown reasons.
