One woman shared her side of the story.
On my first day at my new job, I wore a sweater and pants, but no bra. I never wore one at my old job either because I find them uncomfortable. However, two people at my new job told me my outfit was inappropriate and suggested I wear a bra. They said they could see the shape of my boobs under my sweater. I felt uncomfortable because I didn’t know them, and my sweater covered everything.
On my second day at work, I still didn’t wear a bra, but this time I wore a T-shirt and a jacket. Two more people criticized me, even though I thought I was dressed more conservatively than before.
It felt serious because one of them was the secretary of my boss. I told her there’s no dress code in the office and everyone should wear what’s comfortable. But she said there’s still an unwritten rule to follow, and she mentioned my boobs again.
At my old job, I never wore a bra for two years. I usually wore sweaters, T-shirts, or blouses, mostly with a jacket. Even though I have big breasts, I never saw it as a problem. Am I doing something wrong here?
