I’m in my early 20s, and earlier this year, I learned that I have a half-brother who is 10 years older than me. My mom gave him up for adoption when he was born because of her parents.
When I was young, she said she tried to reach out to him, but his adoptive parents didn’t want her involved. It accidentally came up when my dad had too much to drink, and my mom got really upset. I don’t think she planned to tell me. I might even have a nephew or niece now!
